8th October 2012

At PCR we have been receiving pregnant cats and kittens.  One kitten about 6 months old was found to be pregnant when taken to the vet to be desexed.  She had 6 babies inside her and being only a baby herself, would have struggled to grow and give birth to 6 babies.  In her best interests we decided to abort the babies to give her the best chance of recovery.  This is a timely reminder that people...
need to desex their pets and at 6 months is often too late to have this done.  Cats have the potential of having up to 4 litters a year and as an example of 6 babies a time, that amounts to 24 unwanted babies just from one mother cat.  Please help us to put a stop to this and if anyone wants a kitten to love and cherish for the rest of it's life, then direct them to us.  All our kittens and cats are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated before going to their new home.  Our little baby is being nursed back to health in the foster home and has her new owners visiting her to help give her reassurance that she is being loved and cared for.
